Letter from Secretary General
Dear Delegates and Distinguished Guests, As the secretary general, it's my immense pleasure to welcome you all to the first edition of Dr. Ilhami Tankut Anatolian High School Erasmus Model United Nations Conference 2020, also being the very first MUN conference combined with the Erasmus plus project. This year, we're determined to create an atmosphere that is both professional and beginner-friendly where each and every delegate will have the opportunity to speak, participate and learn in a rigorous and supportive environment in which an enormous cultural interaction will occur among five significant countries which are Italy, Spain, Portugal, Lithuania and Turkey. We are dedicated to the personal, academic, and professional growth of each conference participant, and strive to ensure that all delegates will develop skills that are central to the world of Model United Nations. As seen on our website, this year's committee has been determined as The Environmental committee, in which the global issues that not only the mankind, but all living creatures in the world have been struggling with especially in the recent centuries will be discussed. With the plans of meeting at a time of great challenge which is based on an increasingly complex set of realities, from the contamination of our precious sources to the increasing dangers of climate change, we aim to take further steps and add more into what has already been accomplished within this ultimate challenge. Although many states have been putting an effort into changing the fate of our next generations, it is estimated that our world will begin to collapse within decades under the current circumstances if no further action is taken. Knowing that the end is closer than expected now, the whole world is looking up to us, the youth, to build a better world and we strongly believe that if anyone can find solutions for such vital issues, it is you, the youth with open eyes and open minds. With that being said, I am looking forward to seeing you all in the conference in Antalya/Turkey that will be held from the 14th to 16th of January and I am excited to embark on this unique journey with you! If we can assist you with any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected] Sincerely, Secretary-General, Yaren Ö.
