Letter from Secretary General
Dear Delegates and Distinguished Guests,
As the Secretary -General, it is my immense pleasure to welcome you all to the Erasmus Model United Nations project meeting that will be hosted at Kaunas Jesuit High School. We are determined to create an atmosphere that is both professional and beginner-friendly where each and every delegate will have the opportunity to speak, participate and learn in a rigorous and supportive environment in which an enormous cultural interaction will occur among five significant countries which are Italy, Spain, Portugal, Lithuania and Turkey. We are dedicated to the personal, academic, and professional growth of each conference participant, and strive to ensure that all delegates will develop skills that are central to the world of Model United Nations. Hopefully, that kind of environment will remain during both the MUN discussions, debates and in the time dedicated for activities outside of the MUN sessions. This year, as decided by the DISEC (disarmament and international security committee), our main focus falls on Nuclear Weapons, Chemical and Biological weapons and Using Space for Armament. Be prepared to discuss problems and solutions related to subtopics like: refugees, international human trafficking, weapon industry, the wars in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, Sudan, Afghanistan, Philippines, Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar and Palestine. In this age of recurring wars it is undeniably important to be able to come together to set the grounds for long lasting peace, and find ways to ensure every person’s safety and well-being. With that being said, I am looking forward to seeing you all in my home country in Kaunas/Lithuania for the participation in our project that will be held from the 27th of November to 1st of December, and I am excited to embark on this unique journey with you. If I can assist you with any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]
Sincerely, Secretary-General Miglė V.
